Another evening with the Goodsoul Promotion is looming, well into my 3rd year; these guys gotta be one of my favourite partners to take my lens too, in order to capture and convey- what has been and will be again – to last .
As always the atmosphere of a Goodsoul Gig is that of genuine joy , personal and professional all rolled into one to support the talent that there is to keep some real sounds and musical ambitions alive.
Another hall mark would be the Bands, cherry picked out of the best there is; in quality sound in the current alternative scene. As pictured in these behind the scene snaps, #THEPURPLEHEARTPARADE are yet again to come together for another Gig tonight.
If you ever wondered if live sounds and quality bands are a thing from the nineties: with real musicians strumming some cords, let me tell you these events still got it.
With a well oiled family Team that @GOODSOULPROMO is,
you will have the pleasure of listening to 3 bands of great quality and sound.
GOODSOULPROMO GIG 28-07-16 , @ Sebrigth Arms
Let your evening be filled with sounds and vibes that are sure to remind you of what talent musicians need to bring to the table … well, stage – to fill the room and you with vibes of the unforgettable kind.

See you there…
This lovingly placed picture that has been out of sight and out of my periphery for more than a year made an appearance in the most unusual way. (thanks Caffy for furnishing me with this photo)
One of my great supporters in the early days,
(yeah, been at it long enough to have earlier days, now!?!? #fruitsandhugs)
the gang and crew of lovely people that make up a niche and issue representations of an alternative but yet prominent ‘stage style’ The Zine : put on and participated in a legendary evening ArtBeatPromo Event in grungy SE London and the legendary Amersham Arms.
This chain of events grabbed my attention (did I mention I wasn’t even there, caught up with work in a completely different location!) with great surprise and stirred up my sentiment; looking upon the development of my start up business and efforts in establishing myself in the world of photography… there it was, a stark reminder that things, sometimes just take on their own course and that indeed pictures have the right and life of their own.

The Photo #location portraiture session, came to be and born out of sentiment and things passing, when DEUX FURIEUSE played central London (the year before last!) nearby one of my favourite legendary ‘london’ places:
TIN PAN ALLEY under threat to be demolished to make way for the new developments, I do find myself frowning upon, every so often.
At the back of this well trotten path , with a history of it’s own and many bands we know have started here to shape their impact and careers. It seemed all to obvious to get snap happy and create the Picture that had adventures of its own and made it’s own way on stage – many moons later.
The Photograph was gracing the walls of an Expo early last year at Numb3r , was left behind (by myself) and almost forgotten. It had it’s moment so I thought.

How it came to be that Debbie Smith grabbed the Frame, this month…
… and attacked her guitar, to add some layer of noise to the noise fest that it already was,
echoing in the stratosphere & resonating long after the sounds had ceased- I will never know.
But social media did its part and it wasn’t before long that I became aware.

But it happened: with a ripple effect of sentiment beyond the surface of the picture and music itself.
Illustrating the circle that life entails, and that pictures shouldn’t be refined and seen as the quiet witness to things passed and long gone…
… but moving forward to represent what we wish to preserve and need to have seen & heard!
And thank you Walki (aka W. Freedreamer Tinkanesh) to press the button on your phone camera to hold onto that moment, sending me this picture adding to a continuous cycle of not just things that have been,
but also to be part of this chain, that holds us together and creates a chorus audible beyond time and place.
Love & Light D.
Here we are well into 2016 and reminiscing not just over the work I produce, but also the circles I move in: I felt it is worthy mentioning my experiences of the ‘contemporary world’.
Being a woman that has surpassed her 20 (yes I do remember the 90’s as part of my late teens) but with appreciation for real talent in particular in the realm of music and instruments. I must say the the gigs with GOODSOUL PROMOTION (on FB) have opened my eyes AND ears and furthered my learning, opinions and experiences.
With a ‘band’ HIRVIKOLARI as an example that stood out to me as one that encompassed my concerns of musical talents by ‘simply turning’ buttons to create a sound. These guys also brought a real instrument to stage.
And without further hesitation, I am convinced and like to share this with you , that indeed we have arrived in the 21st century, where true musical talent is more than pinging some strings or a beating a drum, but I happily accept that the mastery of electro sounds (even in combination with real instruments), are done by musicians with the talent of hearing and creating sounds to transport and trigger, what music always did for us.
Here is my thumbs up to turning the buttons!
Love & Light,
Daniela
This is the season of early sunset which gives room and space for the nightlife and entertainment to
cheerish and brighten up the winter days.
Kick starting last month with a packed house once Saint Agnes got on stage ,
that saw me squeezed on stage too, to grab some pics of the performance that was to be had …
oh I still feel my dancing feet tapping , just thinking of it:
…what a night.

I can’t praise the events enough , for all that is considered and on offer, with merchandise
(yes you still can get tapes and vinyl of those up and coming new artists and musicians.)
Gigs and events in intimate venues but with no scaling down on sound at London’s Sebright Arms, the experience is one not to be missed. Well we do cheerish the artistry and talent of real people on stage , giving the vibes and energy you can barley reproduce or record.
#livemusiclovemusic
Gotta be there to feel it … and there is loads to see and hear too of course.
Don’t wait to long to be impressed and hear it for yourself … well don’t mind if you enjoy the pics
for a another few moments. But I can only recommend the full all around sound experience.
NEXT OPPORTUNITY TONIGHT
Well I may not have posted on this Block site for a while, which doesn’t mean that I haven’t been doing the very thing: … taking pictures of bands and hoping to support their promotional efforts with photos to feed the social media feeds, messaging out vision and mission … realizing you vision.
So I am entering a new season with one of my favorite partners @GoodsoulPromo and here some rough snippets of one of their nights. A squick snap of moving images (yes I will use a microphone next time).
On these nights I am there to capture truthful #portraiture of those musical talents, on stage:

baring in mind that the pictures have no sound : I try to find the moments and images that show an impression of sound and the experience of such … to listen … to quality sounds, voices, noises …
And in those moments between soundcheck and live performance I attempt to offer a little -on location- session #bandportraiture – with a hint and reflection of sounds and style of music…

Stay tuned for more pics and get in touch if you need some pictures to promote… d’love to think that I can produce more pictures with a clear purpose … to promote #music #talents #freelancers… etc
Looking for the old & familiar in the new, I’m really always looking forward to attend the GoodsoulPromo Events, not only to picture but also to mix and mingle with creative, musical, talents and to appreciate their fruits of labour and musical outlet of individualism … in this case : unique sounds.
The Duo (Mike & Tim) that makes up Sphelm, I first met in Manchester earlier this year, these guys represent a talent:one to look up to and admire.
Not often can you find something that doesn’t sound like something else – but it sounds like … ‘Sphelm’ !?!
But hey I would not expect any less quality of musical talents from the Goodsoul guys, the appreciation of what is real and what makes a nice escape in soulful sounds, has got them the Reputation they deserve.
Here a recent interview by Artrocker:
ARTROCKER INTERVIEW: Goodsoul Promotion

So, it is hard to remind myself sometimes to press the button and not to get too carried away with listening.

With sounds in mind and ears, I hope to have captured a true representation of the experience that the @GoodsoulPromo Gigs offer. A Portrait of the band and Content and material to support their Development and hopeful successful progress in their musical & creative ambitions.
And all of that can’t really be said in STILL PICTURES,especially in #music #photography.
…so I have taken to pressing the record button too,
and have thrown this little showreel together; to bring a little closer to you – all that there is.

With online marketing ambitions a still picture doesn’t really suffice to introduce to the essence of the Act & Artists, but I hope that you are still able to get a little bit of flavoring and hopefully an appetite for Live Music of up and coming Artists.
NEXT GIG tonight 4th July 2015 : Goodsoul Promotion Event on FB
see you there!
#lovemusiclivemusic
One of last months Music Promotion Assignments saw me working with
and of the BAND playing on one of their soundfull nights:
My Expansive Awareness, from Spain – on a little TOUR through England.
Catching the late light in the day I certainly got excited – loving this quality of light the most.
As always – the conception and constructing of a Band Portraiture involves a little play and trial and error to achieve an image, representative of the Bands Character and Music. Although the nearby Location in Brixton offered a place and stunning scenery.
The play part was welcomed by the members of the Band and we had more play and trial than error,
and I feel we got a set of images quite suitable to their music:
MY EXPANSIVE AWARENESS on bandcamp (the sound!)
In the visual driven world that we live in; I hope that these kind of images bring the people behind the sound a littel closer to you. And hopefully inspire you to come to one of the gigs and see and hear these artists live.

Stay tuned:

Love & Light to all of ya … 🙂 xxD
Since the Tour earlier this year with this amazing band EVI VINE, and one of my current partner for MUSIC PROMOTIONs:
I have been neglecting this blog, but yet all the same have been inspired to pursuit and advance my #band #portraiture, as quite often the window of opportunity to encapsulate all that there is about the band, is a brief as seconds or minutes …
All the same I feel that these images Portrait the tour and ‘flavour’ of their music quite well …

…knowing that these guys spend a lot of time touring, currently to bring their second album to the people – I feel that the photos captured a particular authentic moment in time…
Stay tuned for what else is lurking on my hardrive…
The countdown is on, we are going on tour (Camera & I & Goodsoul Promotion) with this fabulous band for their second album release. Evi Vine and their now available Album: ‘Give your Hearts to the Hawks’, self published yesterday we are now spreading the sound and music in the North of England.
Here a little interview :
Their etheral haunting sounds: #dark #pop with an unmissable connection to the gothic and sublime:
Starting out in Manchester, this coming Wednesday we will take the band on tour through the Penines, with hopefully some on location Portraiture in Nature in contrast to the City snaps and Location and stage shoots to follow. On our way into Leeds where we will play the high profile venue Belgrave Music Hall on Thursday night, hitting the road on Friday to drive into Coventry, where we play the night with another local band joining the fun, before ending the Tour on Saturday in Nottingham.
Here is some of here recent release and free downloads:
This 3 piece band consist of Evi as Vocals and Steve playing Guitar & Drums and Ben on Cello, Piano & Synth – a real wooden instrument in band!?! Love that.
I shall be looking forward to get to know the Trio and should be looking forward to get to capture them candidly on this Tour, as well as creating some Band Portraiture images on Location.
Stay tuned for up and coming pics
@exposed4real
@Goodsoulpromo
As supporting act to the Tour we have Sophie Morgan joining us, a young but promising talent at only 18 years old, in good command of guitar voice and keys.
With invitation in the past to play the Royal Albert Hall in London and other promising adventures on the Horizon.
Not to fail to mention the 3rd band that will join us each night, sticking to the well tried and tested format of 3 bands a night, accomplished talent and music… now leaving London ON TOUR!!
#LoveMusicLiveMusic
I am dearly hoping to capture the adventure in an #oldskool style reminiscent of what worked in the past and is to continue…bringing live music to the ears to those appreciate artistry, music writing, craftsmen shift and sounds wishing to be transported there…
Looking back at 2014; all that I learned all that i am looking to improve, what has been successful in my eyes and what people (my clients and fellow freelancers as well as the rest of the world) would like to see more off… I am looking forward to a new year of many more new adventures to come.
As far as Music Photograph is concerned, I have had my favorite images- which was validated by their use and publications…although personal taste needs to take a back seat, at times , when I am looking to represent my Clients Image, Mission, Message, Style, …Music. 🙂
A good example would be this shoot that took place impromptu, in London’s TinPanAlley, which OOHH SO SADLY is now demolished (last gig a couple of weeks go at 12 Bar would you believe it!?!) to make way for the Cross Rail link, damaging historic Soho and all the stories it once told…
Well we held onto some of it here:
It was great pleasure to meet these guys
and I am pleased the the pictures hit the spot for them: Deux Furieuse on FB
These two had a tale to tell about the importance of this place, it had to them.
This new up and coming Two Piece band (formed in 2013) did impress me with their liquid trail of percussion and skillful drumming and explosive vocals sure to leave an emotional Impact. As the shoot was supported and initiated by the The Zine; i will not forget to mention this important influence on my work.
And after collaborating with the band the most suiting image in line with their image and branding was picked and found its way in The Zines Publication Chapter 3.
Please see click here to read the complete Issue
Chapter 3 of this collaborative inspired e-magazine:
And only very recently I was made aware that the picture found its purpose
and use again alongside an interview on of these two, on 50thirdand3rd .
INTERVIEW DEUX FURIEUSE ”Loud & Clear”
Well now, just in case you wondered which one my favorite pic was out of that session,
I’ll share it here: as it encapsulates (for me)
the grittiness that London (and Denmark Studios Location) offered,
to inspire musicians, giving them a voice a place, a beginning…
Musicians that sure can find good beginning.
in good old London town
with a quintessentially flavored London feel.
Where will I find them this year!?
Have you got a band that needs picturing please get in touch!!
Stay tuned and share your favorite locations in London !?
